I know it is not the prettiest of shots, but I've been wanting to share this sun hat with you for a while now. In the corner of my sewing area I have a have an old 1930's kitchen dresser in which I store a lot of my fabrics, bits & bobs... on top of the dresser I display some of my ever increasing collection of vintage vases & this gorgeous 1950's straw sun hat, which belonged to a very dear old lady that I once knew. Don't know if I shall ever wear it, it looks too good on display..I would hate to damage it.
reversible vintage style bolero jacket with handmade fabric brooch.
Autumn daisy dress
Rosie Picnic dress
I have been a very industrious little sew & sew of late...busy completing these garments for a custom order for a little girl way up north in Alaska. I can't tell you how excited I am to have an order from so far away...seems quite exotic to me since I am located at the bottom of the globe...although we Aussies like to think that we really are at the top of the World, it's just that everybody else got it wrong.

Oh I love the brown floral dress!
And the 50s hat is too beautiful to wear ... it would be heartbreaking if something were to happen to it.
Nostalgia can be a curse sometimes ...
Wow your clothes are stunning! A little girl in Alaska will be very pleased...Love the sunhat and the vases!
Yes well I guess I never consider us to be at the bottom of the world either, lol! Your dresses are beautiful. I think the sunhat looks great on display too, how lovely that it holds memories of a wonderful person that was part of your life!

When we watched the sunset last week on the beach I told the girls it would be morning soon in Queensland where Jo my best buddy has lived for too long now. Top or bottom I'm not too sure isn't the earth really flat?
Your dresses look gorgeous, I'd wear the same style in grown-up size.
Your comments about our adventure made me happy. Loved hearing how you enjoyed what we have here.

Those dresses are delicious - the fabric choices are perfect. I would so wear that hat, just in the garden for 5 minutes at a time so it didn't get damaged!
