bag lady....bird lady

My first sean-the-prawn handbags looking very Nana...I think that is a good thing ,don't you? Hoops and fabrics are all upcycled...oops except the lining of the pinky one, thats a recently purchased quilters cotton.
Little bit of surface interest, got to love some vintage embroidery.

All fully lined with pretty old worldy micro florals. The pussycat hooks on which the bags are hanging in my hallway were a purchase from Anthropologie in NYC. I bought them during a holiday there year 2000. I fell in love with NY & even more so with Anthropologie, lucky they don't have a store in my neighbourhood, I would be stone broke.

Here is a snapshot of one of my chooks this one is Yoko, she is not the sharpest tack but a good little layer none the less. We often let our chookys out in the afternoon to scratch around the fruit trees. I would love to hear if any of you have chooks & let me know what mischief they get up to at your place.

What sweet nana bags! I miss my dad's chooks as the eggs were always so fresh and the yolks were very yellow too, probably from all the silverbeet he used to feed them!

Log, love your new bags, very Janna and smart ;) we have two lovely chokies that free range all day on mums bush block and are always there to great us when we go outside. We don't buy eggs anymore unless they are from someone local who free ranges as they just taste so amazing!! They love to hop up next to us on the bench when we are having a tea break outside which is cute x

Big fan of Anthropologie too. The catalogue is soooo inspiring.
We have three lovely bluebird chickens - totally free range, they can be seen wandering all over the garden. Two good layers and one yet too (she looks pretty though so we're keeping her!)

Love your makes :-) Yep we have cheeky chooks at our house. They recently scratched up all my newly planted bulbs, cheeky things but so lovely.

Those bags do look fabulous. I think they'll be scooped up.

How do you know a chicken's not bright? (That's not the start of a joke, that's a serious question).

Have you ever seen a chook-dog face-off? My chooks can snarl. No eggs, but plenty of chook vs dog action to keep us entertained. Nice bags, loving the wooden handles. Hey, when are we ever going to catch up??

We used to own chooks. All black on my insisting and all their names started with 'o'. Ummm what was the question? .... oh...yeah our first ever egg was laid on our dining table. It was the height, I know now as we were still reno-ing the chook shed at the time. She must have been bursting, poor lovey!
